Hey, have you heard the news?
I have a new website! It's called Cash and Joy and its mission is to increase the awesomeness of the world - of course - through glorious and meaningful marketing.

Why did I focus on marketing? Because marketing can be the most fun and meaningful activity of your business instead of the most dreaded and icky... if you do it right.

Why the fear is worth it

Okay, weird time differential thing. I am writing this post (and uploading the video I made two hours ago) on Tuesday morning. Because I have already published a post today I’ll be scheduling this one for tomorrow… which for most of you reading will be Tuesday. But I’ll be talking about stuff that happened 24 hours previous. Clear as mud?

For non-video-watching types…

My Monday sucked. I was completely done in by work and pressure, everything was hard and unfun.

My Tuesday morning was made of solid AWESOME. I interviewed some fantastic people for the Awesome Fear-Wrangling resource, my Twitter stream was full of interesting conversations and resources and energy, and there were a couple of articles about me. Very flattering ones!

Suddenly, all of the hard grind of the previous day made sense. This is an exciting and energising job and I cannot wait until I get to do it all day!

Pushing through the fear and discomfort and awkwardness is hard, but it’s worth it.

I promise! Look at my smile if you don’t believe it.

What’s the most recent moment where you realised this was All Worth It? Come tell me in the comments!

    You are so cute. #thatisall

How about right now when I 'm on a review trip in Acapulco:)

Otherwise, I get a bit bedraggle at times, as you know. Workin' on it though!

    You're doing an….um….Awesome job!!

    Thank you so much Wendy.

And double points for the EPW reference. :)

Acapulco? Fantastic! Have a super-wonderful time!

You rule, Catherine Caine! You're an original. I mean it, yours is the one blog that's kind of about business and blogging which doesn't sound like everyone else's blog about business and blogging. OK, one of maybe 3. There's you and a couple of others, whom I won't name because then the people I didn't name will be like, “hey, I'm all authentic an' shit, what do you mean my blog isn't original?”

I love your video. And your accent. It gives you a powerful advantage — use it for good, not for evil.

So happy about everything that's happening for you – you're a powerhouse. Consider me impressed and inspired.

I took ten minutes to stop giggling enough to write this reply.

    Thank you!

You're in a more competitive group, because I know about SIX copywriters who write hilarious unique posts. But yours is definitely one where I drop everything when your updates come in because I KNOW it's gonna be a great read. :)

    *dance dance*

  • http://talkingshrimp.com/blog Laura Belgray

When you drop everything, does that include reading those other blogs? I win! Who are these six fools? They better not step to me. I'll beat a bitch. I'm not competitive.

  • http://www.BeAwesomeOnline.com Catherine Caine

No no, you beat all of the others. One time, something was on fire and I ignored it until I'd read your post. :)

  • SusG

Ah, a timely post. Not so much in terms of online-ery, but I'm about to join a walking/hiking group wherein I know no-one and it scares me shitless. I shall report back how worth it all was, hopefully next week.

    Also? You RAWK.

  • http://fight-mediocrity.com/ Gareth

I shall have to bookmark this and come watch it again when I hit the next dip (I know it's coming but by that time I should be so used to writing daily that it won't matter)

  • http://www.BeAwesomeOnline.com Catherine Caine

    Go Sus! Rock it out!

  • http://www.BeAwesomeOnline.com Catherine Caine

I will be doing that very thing myself. :)
