Hey, have you heard the news?
I have a new website! It's called Cash and Joy and its mission is to increase the awesomeness of the world - of course - through glorious and meaningful marketing.

Why did I focus on marketing? Because marketing can be the most fun and meaningful activity of your business instead of the most dreaded and icky... if you do it right.

The Action Studio and a love letter

For the next while, my business will be all about getting bigger. More awesome. More world-changing. More glorious and helpful and generous and wonderful. And so of course I want to encourage other people to go large, too. (Partly because it’s hard and argh and lonely being the only one biggifying.) So, although the middle…

What’s coming next

photo credit: josef.stuefer It’s been over a week since I last posted. A week spent in Vegas in a state of hyper-connection, limited internet access, and incredible noise. I had deeply emotional conversations, late-night poker games, and fabulous meals. (There are Vegas updates coming, once I get enough perspective to make sense.) And in between…

Please-stop-raining Monday

photo credit: AlmazUK Seriously, it’s been raining for the last four days. Raining HARD. When you’re the kind of person who tends to leave their packing and clothes-washing duties until the last few days before a trip, this requires Innovation. (Also, a trip on the scooter later today to buy the last few essentials. I’m…

Wendy Cholbi

Hooray for Showcase Sunday, where it’s all about you, dear readers! What is your name and website? They are the same! Wendy Cholbi. Dot com. My name is also my Twitter handle and my email address. That’s one of the benefits of having a somewhat-unusual last name. Who is your website for and what does…

I adore you.

photo credit: Darwin Bell You laugh at my jokes. You value what I do. You comment on my posts. You understand that my intentions are always good. You buy my offerings. You don’t want me to change. You energise me. You chat with me. You’re smiling right now. I love you. Thank you for being…

The judges give all tens!

photo credit: videocrab Don’t try to make everything Right. Don’t even try to be fantastically awesome at everything you do. Doing a magnificent job requires your full attention, and attention is a very limited resource. (It’s perfectly fine to shampoo your hair on auto-pilot.) Instead, take the extra time and effort to make one thing…

It’s all relative.

photo credit: tinou bao In pre-Vegas flail mode, I’ve done almost no work for the last couple of weeks. Of course, my definition of “almost no work” nowadays looks a lot like what my former self would call “getting quite a bit done”. I’m doing about an hour of consulting, writing at least one post,…

Why you need a schedule

Hooray for Guest Post Wednesday and Maria! photo credit: lisaclarke Why do you need a schedule even in you work in your pajamas? In short?  Because you won’t get squat done if you don’t.  Keep a schedule, I mean.  Not if you work in your pajamas.  That can be true, too, though. Let’s start from…

Questions to ask every day

At the end of today, will I remember clearly what I did? Will I remember it next week? What am I doing to make sure that my days don’t blur into a string of “stuff”? (‘Cos I don’t know about you, but I’ve had entire years that had nothing memorable in them.) What could I…

My my my Monday!

It’s Catherine’s Official Day Off, when she doesn’t write anything that makes sense. photo credit: notsogoodphotography (LOVE that photo.) It’s all good news over here. Last night I had a night off, where I hung out with some awesome real-life friends (where we invented art projects that are freakin’ hilarious and made really bad jokes)….
