Hola, dearests!
So it’s Monday and according to the new system I’m not writing a real post. Instead, I’ll be directing you to an old favourite, and adding a few minutes of rambling because all my other posts are structured (really, they are!) and I love to let the stream of consciousness flow sometimes. This sounds fun!
Firstly, the blast from the past:
How to offer to do a guest post.
In other news:
Did you know that we had an election two days ago and we still don’t know who won it? Neither of the major parties have so far claimed enough seats in Parliament for victory. I really feel for the poor politicians and their loved ones and staff, because some have to wait another couple of days while the postal votes get counted. I would lose my shit if I had five days of waiting about something that important, while still appearing on TV regularly.
Also, non-Australians… are your polling booths generally held at primary (grade?) schools and church halls? Ours are, and that generally means two things:
- sausages in a bun (with onion, of course)
- cake stalls
Yum, the taste of democracy.
The cake stall seems to be losing some of the stunning range and grandeur of my younger years. More young people need to start baking, dammit! I want my coconut ice!
In other other news, I adore adore adore this site that makes time-zone conversion simple. I suck at time-zones.
Oh, and the wonderful Patty did a spiffy video on the difference between shy and introverted. She’s wrong about one key fact: at least one person who is fearless and extroverted watched it. (You know, me.)
Important update:
I’m doing another fun run with Troy! (I know, it’s madness, it’s like I’ve become healthy or something.) In a week I’ll be doing the Bridge to Brisbane 10KM walk. Fantastically, after you climb the big-ass bridge at the start, all the rest is flat. I approve.
Okay, actually important update:
Now I am going to be doing some work on the Official Day Off today, but only because I really want to release the shiny new thing on the imaginary deadline I set for it, which is tomorrow. Remember, people on the Advanced Awesomeness list will get special extra stuff and the first dibs! (Do other countries use the phrase “first dibs”? I bet most of Britain does. Not sure about elsewhere.)
Also, I’ll be doing my first ever teleclass about why people buy your art with Tara in just a few days. Wheee!
Your delightful Australianism for the day:
Fair suck of the sav, mate!
I’m not going to tell you what it means. I think this increases the mystery.
Natalie uses the word bosh quite a lot, which is both very English and very adorable. I want to start using it, as soon as it sounds even vaguely natural coming out of my mouth.
Have you ever had that thing where you yawn and your mouth decides to turn on the sprinklers? I’m sorry, stuff on my desk.
And now, breakfast!
Adieu!
