Ooh, I like the idea of the 5-minute mission quite a lot! That's definitely getting on the schedule. Possibly even for today if I have the time! (Things are a bit manic around here, at least when compared to my energy levels...)

You are awesome because you GET it. meaning, we're never EVERYONE's cup of tea and when we try, we end up being bland and too milky and no one likes tea anyway. blech.

even when I see things that make me cock my head sideways and go "W.T.F.!?" I usually equate them with awesome. Why? Because I can also tell if the stuff they're doing is authentic and from their core passion and their purpose. If it is, it shines through and even if I don't "get" it (what!? Cartoons on a serious website??!!*) I GET it. I get the passion. I get the love. hell, I get the PURPOSE and that, my friend rocks my world and makes me want to shout it out to others.

Wish I could just have you head here to the US where it's crazy hot right now (if it were winter here I'd come to you, as you know) and simply hang out all day and talk about awesome. That not being possible (and Happy birthday) at the moment, I think we should continue our awesome parade of passion on our respective continents. That's really all I have to say today.

that and
* I really love and GET cartoons -- that was just an example.

P

You have to realise that you're never going to have a thing that is universally liked. You might have one that is universally tolerated. Just look at apple pie. When instant pies only came in family size, apple was the best seller. Why, because it was often everyone's second choice. The first choices could be as varied as blueberry, pecan or banoffee. But, when they introduced individual size instant pies, apple fell to 4th or 5th popular, because you could suddenly please everyone as opposed to getting something everyone would eat.

This is what the internet has done for information. You don't have to go with the available information anymore because it's all you can find locally. You can find any info you're looking for in a delivery style that speaks to you. Stop trying to be vanilla, people won't drive 5 miles out of their way for vanilla, but they will for honey infused hazelnut gelato with sprinkles. Stop trying to snag people on the way home from work because you're convenient. Make them leave work because they crave you.

It also occurs to me that I haven't described my flavour of awesome. That's easy. It's Dragon Roasted Stay Puft Marshmallow man. With sprinkles.

Oh, wait. That was 6 hours ago. Well, I wrote 2502 words and issued an awesome challenge to my flaky readers. Not sure if that qualifies. :)
